Red Hook Community Garden
Technically, we didn't eat anything, but after meeting Jenny at Soccer Tacos we were given a tour and some free produce from the nearby garden. "Community" is a bit of a misnomer, since you can't like, plant your own plot - even though there are sporadic areas of obviously unused ground. Many of the old plots had been reclaimed by nature. It was hard to tell where the boundaries of the farm were. There were some unusual plants, like "bitter melon." I have no idea what that's used for. It's an interesting contrast to the ginormous Ikea just across the street. Worth a look.
